SPS Support & Award

The Swiss Proteomics Society, aiming to promote research and education in the science of Proteomics in Switzerland as well as in other countries, provides some financial support and award to its members during the year.

Open financial support

Special SPS grants for 2008 to graduate or PhD students:

Two grants are allocated for the participation to the 2nd European Summer School in Proteomic Basics "Protein identification" to be held in Kloster Neustift (South Tyrol), Italy from July 13 to 19, 2008
Two grants are allocated for the participation to the HUPO 2008 7th World Congress in Amsterdam, 16-20 August 2008
Two grants are allocated for the participation to the 8th Siena meeting, 31 Aug-4 Sept 2008

Rules:

To be a SPS member (membership fees paid)
To have a poster or oral presentation as first author accepted by the conference scientific committee, or to be accepted by the course/workshop scientific committee
To be a student working in a Swiss laboratory
The amount of the grant is up to 750 Sfr
The grants will be attributed after reviewing of the submitted abstracts based on scientific quality.

How to apply:

Once you have applied to one of these events, send an email to Patricia Palagi stating that you would like to apply for a SPS grant.
As soon as the confirmation of acceptance by the conference/course scientific committee is received, the applicant sends an email with the abstract (if applicable) along with a brief CV (2 pages) to Patricia Palagi.

Conditions:

The applicant agrees to write a report of part of the conference's sessions to be published on the SPS web site.

Other grants can be allocated each year upon request to graduate students:

either to present their work related to proteomics in meetings or related events (check the conference list, but not restricted to)
or to participate to proteomics courses or workshops (check the courses list, but not restricted to)
