Applied Biosystems

Applied Biosystems brings a 20-year history of innovation to the dynamic and rapidly evolving field of proteomics. Our comprehensive portfolio of solutions for proteomics research includes breakthrough technologies in protein identification, protein characterization, quantitation and expression analysis, protein sequencing, peptide synthesis, sample preparation and fractionation, mass spectrometry and bioinformatics. We will continue to develop next-generation systems that let researchers look deeper into the proteome and enable even greater productivity in life science discovery.

The 4000 Q TRAP® LC/MS/MS System is a high-performance hybrid triple quadrupole/linear ion trap mass spectrometer for proteomics. The system's high quantitative sensitivity and highly specific scan functions enable you to rapidly, identify and characterize even low-abundance metabolites in a single run. And because this system can trigger MS/MS and MS3 from MRM transitions, you can confirm the presence and structure of metabolites at the same time with just a single LC/MS/MS run on a single system.

Automating PTM analysis is easy using this system's Information Dependent Acquisition (IDA) software, which links highly specific PI and NL scan functions to identify PTMs with high-sensitivity MS/MS scans to determine the modification sites. Automated PTM discovery is now possible from a single LC/MS/MS run.
