With this year’s congress focus, the SPS aims on one hand at covering some of the most exciting innovations in proteomic methodologies and, on the other hand, presenting the increasing impact of proteomics in Biological, Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Medical Research.
The Congress will open with plenary lecture by Prof. Leigh Anderson (CEO, Plasma Proteome Institute), followed by a round-table discussion on funding innovation. In the morning part of the first day, training opportunities on topics of special proteomic interest will be offered. The second and the third day of the Congress will be structured in four sessions, devoted to:
-
Innovative Proteomic Methodologies
-
Proteomics in Biology
-
Chemical Proteomics, and
-
Proteomics in Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences
As in the previous events of the SPS Congress, a mixture of main lectures, short communications selected from the submitted Abstracts and Poster presentations will contribute to a lively discussion on the most recent advances of proteomic research and will fulfill the mission of the SPS: disseminate knowledge and exchange scientific information.
The congress will take place from 5 to 7 December 2005 in Zurich, the largest metropolitan area of Switzerland. Organised by leading scientists of the University of Zurich and the ETHZ, and hosted at the Technopark® Zurich, SPS ‘05 promises to be a landmark in the development of the proteomics community in Switzerland and in Europe, at large.
