ScopeAfter the successful organisation of innovative training courses in 2006, the Swiss Proteomic Society Committee has confirmed its choice to organise a congress every second year. So here we are back in Lausanne with an outstanding scientific programme and unprecedented events! The SPS07 congress will focus on the present limitations in the field of proteomics, and in particular on how can we go beyond the limits. Presentations will cover areas such as:
Presentations by an international panel of speakers will address these and other important issues, in order to give a clear picture of the directions of proteomics research in which we can push the limits. As it has often been the case in our activities, we like to innovate. In addition to two outstanding opening lectures (by Peter Roepstorff and Albert Heck), we will open the congress with a series of 10-12 short five minute hot-spot presentations. As in the previous SPS congresses, a mixture of main lectures, short communications selected from the submitted Abstracts and Posters presentations will contribute to a lively discussion on the most recent advances of proteomic research and will fulfil the mission of the SPS: disseminate knowledge and exchange scientific information. Two roundtables will further strengthen the programme, one focusing on industrial-scale validation of newly discovered biomarkers, the other being more oriented towards pre-analytical challenges. The congress will take place from 3 to 5 December 2007 at the Ecole Hotelière nearby Lausanne, close to the lake of Geneva, where we expect to have high level science, warm interactions and, last but not least, good food!
