Post-Doc - Proteomics technology development

A post-doctoral position is available to develop techniques to study a usually neglected portion of the proteome. The candidate will apply and develop biochemical techniques to isolate and analyse proteins which are resistant to digestion and are therefore poorly represented in normal shotgun proteomics studies. The analytical part will be performed by high-resolution mass spectrometry (LTQ-Orbitrap). The candidate will be integrated in a small but dynamic group. The project will include a collaboration with the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics for the data analysis part. Knowledge of general protein biochemistry techniques and mass spectrometry is required.
