ANALYTICAL BIOCHEMIST LIFE SCIENCE SERVICES

INTRODUCTION

M-Scan Switzerland (mass spectrometry consultants and analysts) is part of a network of 18 life science laboratories within the SGS Group.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Support study directors in the conduct of studies

REPORTING LINE

•Managing Director, M-Scan laboratories, Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Development
•Perform the analytical benchwork to execute study plans
•Write/review reports for the customers after completion of experimental work
•Active participation in scientific meetings to support/lead contract closure
•Understand client needs and turn them in to winning solutions
•Design study plan to fulfil client needs
•Liaise with other SGS Life Science laboratories to coordinate multisite studies
•Promote the SGS brand and service offering at relevant external conferences

Tendering
•Develop tender proposals including quotations to meet customer requirements
•Negotiate and close contracts with clients and transfer to operational teams to execute
•Guide and support country management in identification and screening of suitable projects

Technical capabilities
•Operate various LC-MS systems (Waters/Sciex)
•Operate GC-MS (Perkin Elmer)
•Perform sample preparation using various chemical and biochemical techniques
•Interpret data both quantitative and qualitative

Manage

•one lab technician


PROFILE


•PhD level scientist with a proven track record in Protein/Glycoprotein Chemistry, Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry and/or experience working in a GLP/GMP environment.
•Practical experience in conducting both quantitative and qualitative studies
•Experience in preparation of scientific documents (reports, protocols)
•Experience in working in a contract service lab is an advantage
•Fluent in spoken and written English and French
•Fluent in spoken and written Spanish is an advantage

REQUIRED SKILLS

•Able to work in regulatory (GxP) environment
•Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and other SGS Life Science laboratories
•Management of multisite studies
•Able to work independently and coordinate complex activities simultaneously
